Maja Salvador on being pegged as a kontrabida: ‘Manalo or matalo, thankful pa rin ako’

After being nominated for Female Kontrabida of the Year at the recent Yahoo Celebrity Awards, Maja Salvador said she was flattered with the nomination, which pitted her against fellow Kapamilya actresses Andi Eigenmann and Kaye Abad. The 25-year-old actress said she does not mind being pegged as a villain as long as she is given due credit for the role. “Diyos ko, kahit ano pa yan, manalo or matalo, thankful pa rin ako kasi ang importante napapansin, na-a-appreciate nila yung ginagawa kong role dun sa teleserye. At least na-recognize ka nila di ba?” she shared.

After the success of her teleserye The Legal Wife and her first major concert Maj: The Legal Performer, Maja said she was hoping to find time for a short vacation if possible. “Meron dapat (bakasyon) pero nalagyan pa rin (laughs). Meron akong bakasyon dapat for one week pero siyempre pag may blessing na dumating yun muna uunahin, work muna. Resched muna. At least nakapahinga naman ako pag walang ginagawa,” she said.

The 25-year-old performer said she is also excited for her next project which is already in the works. “Meron na at excited na ako (laughs). After Maja The Legal Performer sa Music Museum and then after saka daw pag-uusapan yung next teleserye. At saka magpapaka-busy muna sa album tour,” she added.

With her numerous endorsements, Maja said she is happy to be able to save up with more projects coming in. “Siyempre hindi lang naman porke't ang daming projects ngayon sige lang ng sige, dapat iniisip mo talaga yung future mo. Kaya ako I'm very happy na nag-e-endorse ako kasi meron na akong dalawang unit sa Robinson's Homes kaya sobrang masaya ako na parang napunta ako sa bagong family na alam kong aalagaan din ako. Sobrang excited din ako na alagaan din itong binigay nila sa akin. Yung isa tinitirhan ko na. Yung bagong bigay nila excited na ako kasi siyempre mahilig kasi akong mag-ayos, yung ako yung pipili ng mga furniture, ganyan. So excited na ako ayusin yung aking bagong home,” she shared.

After moving into her first condo two years ago, Maja said she personally designed the theme. “Simple lang yung (theme), beige, white, and dark brown. Gusto ko kasi yung nakaka-relax din. Sobrang thankful ako sa The Legal Wife dahil ang daming biglang blessing na dumating pa sa akin na parang sunod-sunod eh, so sobrang blessed ako this year talaga,” she said.
