The member’s only island resort in Quezon was recently under fire for offering their “yaya meals” composed of chicken and pork adobo with rice for the guests’ helpers.
The controversy broke out after former beauty queen Maggie Wilson-Consunji who was on vacation at the resort ranted about the incident on her Facebook account over the weekend.

According to Consunji, she found out about the incident after her son’s yaya wasn’t allowed to order what she wanted to eat at the resort. Moreover, she claimed that her son’s yaya wasn’t allowed to eat the same meals as she had.
In a statement posted on their Facebook account, the exclusive resort addressed the controversy and even stressed that they do not understand the “entire hullabaloo about the ‘yaya meal.’”

Balesin further clarified that what they offer as part of “yaya meal” are tenderloin steak and lobster thermidor, if the member asks for it.
