Isabelle Daza admits marriage plans: ‘Hopefully this year it will happen’

As one of the stars of ABS-CBN’s new soap opera Tubig at Langis, Isabelle Daza said that her role as a simple provincial girl named Clara is a far cry form her role as a lawyer in Nathaniel. “To prepare, nag-workshop ako tapos tinulungan din ako ni direk na umasta na taga-probinsya tapos mahirap din kasi my personality is really strong and si Clara at napaka-hinhin at hindi pala so laging nag-aaway yung character kong si Clara pag may eksena kami. Gina-guide naman kami ng mga co-actors ko and of course the directors. Parang mga simpleng duster yung mga outfit ko dito, mga camison, ganun,” she shared.

When asked about her reaction to co-star Zanjoe Marudo’s recent breakup and how it affected him on the set of their show, Belle said she has nothing to contribute to the issue. 'Hindi ko tinatanong actually. Wala akong alam. Because it’s very professional naman on the set and ayoko naman mag-ask ng mga questions. Hindi nga (siya sad) eh. Laging tawa ng tawa yun sila Archie (Alemania) at si Z. I know Bea (Alonzo) naman and she’s very kind to me and I know also Z so yun lang naman yun. I have no idea (if friends pa sila). I only knew (about their breakup) now,” she admitted.

When it comes to matters of the heart, Belle shared her opinions on love. 'Of course. I think love is what brings happiness and meaning into our lives and lahat naman tayo ipapaglaban natin yun. But I also think you can slowly learn to love a person and I believe you can slowly fall out of love with a person. Siyempre when you get to know them siyempre hindi mo pa sila kilala and then biglang, 'Ay mabait pala siya.' And then you fall in love with him. It can also happen the other way around. Pag magkasama kayo lagi tapos hindi mo bet so you slowly fall out of love with that person. I think kailangan matuto ka for yourself kasi kahit ano namang sabihin ng parents mo, if you want it puwede ring itago (laughs). Ganun,” she shared.

Having been in a relationship with her foreigner boyfriend for a few years now, Belle admitted she is ready to be engaged and even married within the year already. 'Well I’m forcing him to get engaged na (laughs) I’m kidding. That’s what I keep telling them. So hopefully this year it will happen. Both or ang engagement di ba?” she said.

The Kapamilya actress said unlike her good friend Solenn Heussaff who reportedly got hitched in Argentina last month, she has not chosen a location for her wedding yet. “Kahit saan. I don’t have a destination in mind or anything. Wag naman may work pa ako di ba? Tubig at Langis muna. Mga December ganun,” she added.

The Tubig at Langis actress said she does not think her mother Gloria Diaz will mind if her boyfriend proposes this year. 'Ah, I hope so. Kawawa naman yung boyfriend ko if he’ll have to ask my mom di ba? Puwede rin. It’s a nice tradition,” she admitted.

Belle said her relationship with her mom has gotten closer ever since she transferred networks. 'I think my mom is very supportive of my career right now and she’s also one of the deciding factors why I chose to be here in this network. She said that you have to also challenge yourself and do something that you’ll feel fulfilled with and try something new. Sabi niya it’s a different experience to wake up everyday proud of what you’ve done and she’s very supportive of my career. She always gives me unsolicited advice kahit na hindi ko hinihingi tumatalak siya (laughs) so wala akong choice. I listen to her because I think she’s been in the industry for so long. She wouldn’t have lasted if she didn’t know a thing or two I think,” she said.
