Despite directly explaining that she would not be able to reprise the iconic role, rumors continue to float that Angel Locsin is still playing Darna.

Instead of denying or confirming the rumor during the blogger’s conference of her movie Everything About Her, Angel said, 'Ang priority ko po kasi talaga ay magpagaling. May konting usap-usap pero ang kailangan lang po talagang mangyari ay maging successful po 'yung operation at walang mangyayaring masama after that. So iyon lang po ang iniisip ko.”

While some netizens have been pitching names of stars who could take on the role, a good number of them still hope to see Angel donning the red and gold bikini.

Angel, for her part, admitted that Darna remains to be an important role for her.

Angel tearfully begged off from doing Darna late last year after announcing that she has a disc bulge and that she would have to undergo an operation.

Before 2015 ended, Angel flew to Singapore to undergo an operation. However, according to her, she still has to come back for another operation soon.

The idea, she said, is to fly to Singapore again after finishing her commitments on her comeback movie with Star For All Seasons Vilma Santos and Xian Lim.

Even though she went on a year-long hiatus from doing projects, Angel remained grateful that her fans are very supportive of her.

'Kung mayroon, mayroon, kung wala, wala. Basta ako I'm happy, nasa point na ako ng buhay ko na kumportable na tayo mamuhay, kumportable na rin ang pamilya ko. Iyon ang mahalaga sa akin. I'm just hungry na gumawa ng magagandang projects,' she ended.
