051317-FifthSolomon_PUSH.jpgFifth Solomon’s ad where he played as a transgender is going viral online. The Kapamilya star admitted that he initially felt uneasy accepting the role but later on realized that it was actually liberating.

And tapos ‘yung tinry kong pumunta [sa look test] i-conquer ko na lang dahil meron akong kasabihan na pag natatakot ka mas lalo mong gawin so ‘yun ginawa ko siya tapos nong sinuot ko ‘yung pang girl na costume, minake-upon na ako and all, I felt more free,” he said in an interview with PUSH at the Kapamilya Chat for his Ipaglaban Mo episode this Saturday.

Fifth is aware that his commercial is a hit online. Though he read some negative comments, the Kapamilya actor was thankful that most of the netizens are commending the ad. He also appreciated the fact that the advertising world has become more accepting to roles like he played in the commercial. “I am happy na nararamdaman ko na nagiging open na ‘yung industry ng media, lalo na ‘yung advertising, mas open na sa LGBT,” he stated.

Aside from doing commercials, Fifth is trying his hand at filmmaking. He is currently enrolled at a university in Australia taking his Masteral degree in media. He shared that he will be going back overseas to finish the program after he puts up his business in the Philippines and shoot his own films. The moment he graduates, he will still settle here in the Philippines.

Mas gusto ko sa Philippines pa rin kasi ‘yung way of writing ko mas kabisado ko ‘yung kultura ng Pilipino ganon tapos I am trying to join film festivals, hopefully sana makapasok and I am planning to shoot a short film this year,” he shared.
