As one of the most popular celebrity YouTubers in the country right now, Alex Gonzaga said she has no big secret to her vlogging success other than just showing the online world her true self. She shared some advice on how to produce good content.

Be Authentic.

“Siguro don’t overdo it. You should also give people unusual things to watch kasi you already have the television or social media platforms so what would make you different from other channels or other videos is siguro kung OA yung iba sa pag-effort, just be authentic. Just be yourself. Kung boring yung personality mo huwag ka nang mag-vlog (laughs).”

Know your true passion.

“Ang pinaka-tip ko talaga usually pag nag-to-talk ako, sabi ko, ‘Find your passion’ talaga and it won’t feel as if you’re working. So parang you’re looking forward to making videos talaga kasi it’s your passion. So if passion mo magluto or passion mo magpasaya or passion mong guluhin yung buhay ng pamilya mo, para kasing wala namang limit sa YouTube so just be yourself and don’t overdo it. Hindi porke’t nakakatawa ka eh gagawin mo na kung anu-ano na nakakabastos ka na.”

Be careful of what you say.

“Wala naman silang restrictions sa bahay pag nag-shu-shoot ako pero may mga times na may sasabihin ako on camera tapos sasabihin ng daddy ko, ‘Huwag mong isama yan!’”

Be open to collaborating with other people.

“Gusto ko sana si Vice Ganda. Actually tini-text ko na siya. Gusto ko gumawa ng makeup video kami kaso yung schedule namin hindi magkatagpo. Payag naman siya kasi di ba meron siyang Vice cosmetics? Kasi yung gusto ko at gusto niya hindi pa kami nagtutugma ng concept ng gagawin namin.”
