Viva Records released the official music video for Sarah Geronimo’s “Sandata” on YouTube last Sunday, July 1. Directed by Paul Basinillo, the video depicts the struggles of a depressed woman, a battered wife, and a bullied student and how they won over their oppressors.

The song’s lyrics pertained to a sandata or weapon needed to overcome personal challenges. For the singer-actress, who recently had an emotional breakdown in the middle of her performance in Las Vegas concert, that weapon is apparently her faith. At the time, she said, “Hindi love life, hindi success sa trabaho, hindi pera ang makakapagbuo sa 'yo, kundi relasyon mo talaga sa Panginoong Diyos.”

The electro-pop music video is produced by the same team that brought us “Tala” (Nica Del Rosario and Jumbo De Belen).
