Shay Mitchell falls in love with Palawan

Actress Shay Mitchell couldn’t pass up the chance to visit a piece of Philippine paradise during her Manila tour with actor Penn Badgley for their thriller show You this week.

Following a successful press conference last Monday and a fan meeting the next day, Shay flew to El Nido, Palawan to spend the last few hours of her stay before flying home to the U.S.

“Couldn’t go to the Philippines without visiting the islands...so I did. #workhardplayhard,” she said.

Ever the beach lover, Shay, whose visit to her other home country as a half-Pinay marks her third, seems to have fallen in love with the island for its rich nature and breathtaking beauty.

Aside from her tropical getaway, it is to be recalled that Shay also squeezed in a visit to Virlanie Foundation, a non-profit organization in the Philippines that reaches out to street children in need of special protection, located in Makati City. Through her Instagram Stories, the Filipino-Canadian beauty encouraged her Filipino friends to do the same.

“If you are around Metro Manila or nearby their office in Makati City, please drop by and help out! Anything from in-kind donations for their needs or any small donation will definitely go a long way! Help us ensure that these children all reach a better and brighter future that they so deserve,” she wrote.
