After first entering showbiz almost two decades ago, Maui Taylor admitted she was happy to get the chance to act again via her guest role in FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano last year. “It felt great kasi parang when I had two kids feeling ko parang mahihirapan ako bumalik pero naging okay naman. It was actually easier in a way kasi parang people already saw me as a serious person doing serious work in filming and acting. So it was easier definitely,” she shares during the iFlix X Viva press launch held last July 10 in BGC.

During her stint in Coco Martin’s top primetime series, Maui said she was welcomed very warmly on the set. “Yung first day of taping sobrang kabado ako kasi that was the first time I actually met kuya Coco (Martin). And then I was expecting something else but when I saw him sobrang humble, sobrang down-to-earth. I remember him saying, ‘Maui thank you dahil tinanggap mo yung role.’ He handpicked the Hot Babes for the role. So I was very glad na nakasama ako dun sa cast ng Ang Probinsyano.”

The former Viva Hot Babe said she is very different from the Maui people saw in her earlier movies. “I think I’m more responsible now than I was before. When it comes to my working habits, I make sure I am there two hours before the set call time. So I’ve really grown and turned into a more mature person. But what I missed most about showbiz was working with the Hot Babes because we have this special bond together as the Viva Hot Babes and we were molded to be as one as a girl group. Yun yung isa sa mga na-miss ko plus of course yung busyness before na everyday you go out. But of course now you have to choose your projects because you have two kids growing up that you have to support as well,” she explained.

As a very hands-on mom to her sons Antoine Miguel and Matteo Alonzo, Maui said she is the disciplinarian in the family. “People would be surprised to know that I’m a very hands-on mom. I’m very strict with my kids. When I say no, I mean serious business. Talagang pag sinabi kong no, N-O talaga. When I said yes, then yes they can do it,” she said.
