Marvel stars took to social media to pay tribute and to honor Chadwick Boseman who passed away at 43 because of colon cancer.

Chadwick appeared in Captain America: Civil War in 2016, headlined Black Panther in 2018, and starred in the final installments of Avengers in 2018 (Avengers: Infinity War) and 2019 (Avengers: Endgame), respectively.

On Saturday, August 29 (PH time), a statement was posted on Chadwick's Twitter page relaying that the actor died after battling colon cancer since 2016.

"Chadwick was diagnosed with stage III colon cancer in 2016, and battled with it these last 4 years as it progressed to stage IV. Chadwick persevered through it all, and brought you many of the films you have come to love so much," the statement said.
