Actress Julia Barretto is the latest celebrity to become a member of the Philippine Coast Guard Auxiliary (PCGA).

She now joins her boyfriend, actor Gerald Anderson, in the agency's K9 Special Support Squadron. Based on photos shared by the PCG on Instagram, Julia took her oath during an induction ceremony held at its National Headquarters on Wednesday, September 1.

On his Instagram page, Gerald also shared the news, as he proudly welcomed his girlfriend to the PCGA.

"Welcome to the PCGA K9 Special Support Squadron, AUX ENS Julia Barretto," he wrote in the caption.

Gerald is an auxiliary officer of the PCG with the rank of Lieutenant Commander. He joined the agency in December 2016, together with his father Randy, brother Ken, and sister Jeanifer.

It was early this year, shortly after he admitted the real score between them, when Julia started to join her boyfriend's activities for the PCGA.

Last March, the actress took part in a relief operation Gerald held in Barangay San Agustin in Iba, Zambales to mark his 32nd birthday. The event was supported by the PCG, as well as the World Vision Philippines.

Meanwhile, aside from the couple, actors Diether Ocampo and Matteo Guidicelli, as well as celebrities Erwan Heussaff and Nico Bolzico, are also members of the PCGA.
