With the release of his second acting project Saying Goodbye, Nio Tria talked about how he prepared for his role as Seth Fedelin’s cousin Jericho in the iQiyi series.

“My first acting project was Click, Like, Share with direk Manny Palo where I was also working with Andrea (Brillantes). Now it’s my second project and at the start sobrang kabado ako. I was really pressured to do well because being a new actor I want to prove myself that I was working hard and well prepared ako pagpasok sa lock-in taping. And I was thankful na sila direk Dolly Dulu and everyone in the production were helpful to me. Tapos sobrang supportive yung castmates ko like sila Seth and Andrea tapos sila Kobie (Brown) and Andi (Abaya),” he said.

With his career starting only last year after joining Squad Plus, Nio said he still has a lot to learn when it comes to being an effective actor. The 18-year-old Saying Goodbye actor shared how he made use of his mom Cherry Pie Picache’s advice and what he learned on director Dolly Dulu’s set.

“Coming into the project, I’m very new. I think what I learned the most was to stay relaxed coming into a scene. I think kasi minsan if nag-o-overthink ako sa scene, yung emotions na gusto ko ilabas hindi ko nagagawa. So I think it’s important to be prepared before doing a scene and once you’re doing it you have to be relaxed and confident in yourself na yung preparation mo is enough na,” he explained.

Summing up his first year in showbiz, Nio said he is thankful for all the opportunities coming his way and looks forward to more acting opportunities this year.

“If I could think of 2021 and describe it in a word I would say change. I feel like 2021 was a year of change personally for me kasi there’s a lot of things na inasa na hindi nangyari or mga things that happened or blessings na nangyari na you’d never expect. For example, I never expected to be part of this industry, to act and to become an actor. Pero by God’s grace I was given the opportunity and I’m enjoying my work and there’s a lot of change happening in my life and I’m very blessed that it is happening because change is always needed to grow. I’m looking forward for what’s to come din this 2022,” he said.
