Now under new management, P-pop girl group 4th Impact recently released their very own music titled “Here We Go.” Talking with PUSH about their latest venture after the physical press conference of PPOPCON 2022, sisters Almira, Irene, Mylene, and Celina Cercado said that it was their new management who encouraged them to write their own songs.

“Parang kasi before, parang puro cover songs lang po kami and we’re just so blessed na ngayon po, under ShowBT na kami,” said Irene who went on to acknowledge the team who have been helping them. ShowBT Philippines is known to be a Korean company, headed by CEO Charles Kim.

“Dati pangarap lang po namin na magsulat, and natatakot kaming magsulat kasi hindi po namin alam kung maganda ba ‘yung masusulat namin pero we are just so blessed and grateful po sa ShowBT for trusting us to write,” added Celina.

The ladies also acknowledged the influence of their brother group SB19 who has long been a part of ShowBT where the boys trained under Korean mentors, three years before their debut in 2018.

Almira said, “Malaking influence rin ‘yung SB19. Nakikinig kami ng mga lyrics nila and ‘yun ‘yung nag-inspire sa amin. ‘Yung words ni Pinuno,” referring to the group’s leader and composer Pablo.

Titled “Here We Go,” Irene shared that their new song was inspired by their life story. “Pero itong song po na ito na ‘Here We Go’ is really inspired by our life story. Kasi sabi nga po nila kanina, sobrang tagal na namin sa industry, and this song talks about ‘yung bagong himig ng henerasyon,” she said, adding that they want to give impact through their music, and to empower Filipinos around the world.

From being independent artists, 4th Impact talked about the changes now that they are a part of ShowBT. Irene said, “Lagi ko pong sinasabi they are [our] answered prayer. Kasi sobrang tagal po naming pinagdasal na one day, sana may maniwala naman po sa’min, sa talent namin, and talagang pinartikular ko pa na sana Korean po ang maniwala. Tapos nagulat po kami na ‘yun po, si Sir Charles, Korean company po ‘yung ShowBT so answered prayer talaga and sobrang nagpapasalamat lang po talaga kami kasi grabe ‘yung mga blessings po na nangyayari ngayon.”

Speaking of answered prayers, 4th Impact was also asked about a miraculous moment in their lives.

Almira shared, “For us, siguro the biggest miracle is ‘yung nandito pa rin ‘yung mama namin.” “Gumaling po si mama sa COVID,” added Irene.

“Kasi di ba from pandemic na nag-COVID ‘yung buong family but ‘yung malaking naapektuhan is ‘yung mama namin. Na-intubate siya and akala namin ‘yun na ‘yung last moment na makikita namin but our faith, ano eh, nakalimutan namin na si Lord pala, ‘pag niremind ka niya ang bilis lang mawala ng life. Di ba? Parang naneglect natin ‘yun ‘nung busy tayo so when we came from UK or ang dami naming mga work na dumating, naka-focus kami ‘don, and paano pa kami makikilala pa, ‘yung music namin. But I think, ‘yung biggest miracle is ‘yung buo pa rin kami despite the pandemic na dumaan,” Almira narrated.

She went on to share the other miracles they received. “Tapos naging blessing in disguise pa kasi ‘yung livestream. Nakapag-ipon pa kami kung bakit kami nagka-bahay din.”

Earlier this year, the ladies, through a YouTube vlog, took fans on a tour around their new house. In an Instagram post, Almira said, “Thank you, Lord, for the first big blessing this 2022. Since we started singing, our main goal is to have our dream home for our family one day. We can’t believe that it’s happening now. It’s like we’re still floating in the air.”

Meanwhile, in light of the Holy Week, Irene said, “Gusto po namin maka-inspire po ng mga young people na maniwala tayo na si Lord, nandiyan talaga siya. Kasi kaming magkakapatid, we’ve been here in this industry for a very long time, and lahat po ng competitions nasalihan na namin. Pero ‘yun nga, si mama lagi niyang sinasabi na, ‘‘Wag kayong gigive-up kasi there will be a perfect time for you.’ And I think and I believe that this is the perfect time for 4th Impact.”

4th Impact has been in the industry for years, reportedly forming their group in 2001. They have joined several competitions in the Philippines and abroad, including the South Korean talent competition Superstar K and Britain’s The X Factor where they were recognized for their performance of Jessie J, Ariana Grande and Nicki Minaj’s song “Bang Bang.”
