“Probably not (laughs). I don’t know. I’m turning 25 so I still have a little more time but as of now, it’s not part of my plan. It’s definitely a time of experience and self-discovery, self-love, prioritizing my peace and getting to know myself better.

“It really affects your mental health. You get a lot of comparisons to a lot of girls and they look at your body. They don’t really look at who you are inside. So of course you have to take care of yourself as well if this is what they see. “The reason why I joined at my time is because I saw the beauty pageant industry was changing. It was more of ‘We want to see who you are as a person, like your authentic self’ and I’ve always been the type of person like me before I would always need to be dressed up, look good, wear makeup and I didn’t like that. Because it’s not realistic.

“We have days where we want to just go out without makeup, wear casual clothes, and at the time when I joined, I was already seeing how that changed. And I love that I was able to be part of that change and to tell other people that beauty queens are human beings too and that we want to be more approachable. We want to be able to help and I think showing that you are a real human being and that you can have bad days and good days, it gets you closer to the community and to the Filipino people,” she shared.
