Alexa Ilacad shared her experience working with Korean actor Kim Ji-soo on the film Mujigae.

"When I saw Ji-soo for the first time, he's so tall," she recalled in an interview with Bianca Gonzalez for the TFC show BRGY. "I think he is 6 [feet] something and I am so small so' pag tinitingnan ko siya nakatingala ako talaga and I didn't know if he spoke English, so I was afraid that there was gonna be a language barrier, something like that."

When they began their workshop, Alexa got to know more the actor recounting: "He look really serious, like game face on. Tapos sinalang agad kami sa isang scene... parang workshop so I have to break the ice."

The Kapamilya star went on: "He's very nice. And slowly but surely, day by day, he started opening to everyone, nakikipagbiruan na siya sa lahat."

In the film, Alexa plays Sunny, who is hesitant to care for her niece after she becomes orphaned. Since Sunny never wanted children, she’s unsure about taking on the role of adoptive parent to the child left by her late sister.

On what she realized after playing the role, Alexa relayed: "Motherhood is tough work. Iyon 'yung na-realize ko while having to take care of the child [in the movie]. Props to my mother... to every mother out there, this is hard work and it's a commitment. Love is a choose every day and mom chooses to love their kids to death every day."

When asked what the most challenging part was on playing the role, Alexa replied: "Honestly, saying goodbye. I had such a hard time during the ride home na kailangan kong kumawala kay Sunny kasi I really enjoyed playing her character. And I was so proud of her character development to the point na nainggit ako. Gusto ko rin ganito, for me as Alexa."

Alexa shared that there are aspects in Sunny that she resonated with. "Sunny in the beginning, she's, I guess the trauma she went through turned her into a very sheltered person with such high walls, cold heart, and hyper independence, which is something I think I am in a way," she admitted.

"I feel like I used to be such a lively, bubbly child and going through so many things at such a young age led me to having such high walls and the same hyper independence. And I just admire how she was able to overcome that."

Mujigae will be released exclusively at SM Cinemas starting October 9
