One of the most stressful days that any student can go through is on their first day of college. Whether it's because of being in a new campus, meeting new classmates and teachers, or having a new sense of womanhood brought about by having period days, navigating through this new stage in life with confidence can definitely be a challenge for many young women in the world. Aiming to have young women to engage in conversations about period positivity and body literacy with confidence, Kotex launches their Freedom school tour campaign to empower students by providing quality menstrual products like the Kotex Freedom which lets women feel like they can be themselves without worrying about leaks or what others might think, no matter the time of the month.

Last October 29, Kotex capped off their Freedom University tour at the Centro Escolar University-Las Piñas during the school’s 49th Foundation Day to reach out, support, and empower students about their menstrual health and to let them sample and experience why more and more women are choosing Kotex Freedom pads. For third year nursing student Tiffany Kate Alvalera, the brand has been with her throughout her menstrual journey up until now that she is going on duty at the hospital. “Every time I use Kotex, it’s like I’m not wearing a pad and it’s super comfortable to use. It’s so nice especially when we go on duty and as a nurse because we’re always walking and standing. So I never have anxiety to move around when I’m using it!”

Even students who have recently started using the brand agree that they feel more like themselves when they’re wearing the Freedom pads. “I just started using Kotex last month. Unlike the other brands, Kotex doesn’t leak. When me and my classmates go on duty and have to wear our white uniform, we like using Kotex because it feels safe for everyday use,” shares 3rd year nursing student Joanna Capillo.

As a brand that believes that every young woman deserves to feel confident and comfortable enough to explore her potential without worrying about her period, Kotex wants women to know that they are not alone when it comes to learning about period positivity and encourages them to talk more openly about shared experiences. Just like medical technology student Shekinah Espejo who admits she is excited to try Kotex for the very first time. “I’ve always been interested in trying Kotex but I’ve just never tried it before because I get rashes so I was scared to try something different but I’m willing to give this a try because I’ve heard good feedback about it from my friends,” As part of the Kotex Ultra Thin Pad line, Kotex Freedom provides protection from the most common period problems: leakage, wetness, bulging, irritation, and odor.

In this day and age, talking about your period should be anything but taboo and the need to normalize conversations about it is stronger than ever. This is so that more and more young women can start to see periods less of a burden, and feel empowered to take on what’s ahead without letting their period get in the way of their progress. Kotex is proud to be part of this journey, helping young women feel confident, free, and empowered to express themselves and reach their full potential, especially in college.
