MANILA - The performance of Dino Splendid Acrobats, a Batangas-based group, did not initially catch the attention of the judges of "Pilipinas Got Talent,"but their finale, which was hair-raising to say the least made up for it.

There were audible gasps from the audience as one of the group's members made his way to the top of a long metal pole perilously perched on the shoulder of his fellow acrobat, and did a series of stunts that justifies the inclusion of the warning tag to viewers to never try these at home.

"Kayo ay kayamanan ng Batangas," commented action star Robin Padilla, one of the judges alongside actress Angel Locsin, former ABS-CBN president Freddie Garcia and comedian Vice Ganda.

The other performers of the night included Dona "Lola Rakista" Aguirre, who drew middling reviews for her cover of "Love Hurts" from Nazareth, escape artist Vernon De Vera and the male dance duo from Davao del Sur, "Twin Brothers."

Two other contestants --The Chosen Ones and Mark Dune Basmayor-- will take the stage on Sunday in a bid to secure spots in the grand finals of the talent competition to be held at the Mall of Asia Arena.
