MANILA - Hollywood actor Osric Chau, best known for his beloved role in the hit CW series "Supernatural," has clarified his plans to cast Filipina actress Jasmine Curtis-Smith as his co-lead in his movie "Empty by Design."

He earlier revealed that Curtis-Smith will be starring in his film —about 2 people who rediscover their roots in the Philippines— but a sudden shift in the actress’ schedule may prove problematic.

But Chau quickly added that his team has a list of other local actresses they may cast if they fail to fix the scheduling conflict, thanks to the help of Filipino producers and a local media company.

"Empty by Design" is Chau's first self-produced movie, and it will be directed by his roommate Andrea Walter, also the scriptwriter, who is half-Filipino.

He shared his own experience growing up as the "Chinese kid" in Canada, but was treated as a foreigner when he moved to China due to his sensibilities - the things he likes, the shows he watched- which he described as "very North American."
