MANILA - Since the release of her new album, Charice has been back in the spotlight, but with newfound attention comes unwanted controversy.

Some eagle-eyed fans have noticed that the singer has yet to post on a photo of her with her mother Raquel on her revamped Instagram page, fueling new speculations that all is not well between them.

In an interview on "Tonight with Boy Abunda" on Tuesday, Charice took the opportunity to calm the rumor mills. "Siguro po kasi in these past few years, nasanay iyong mga tao sa lahat ng issues sa nangyari sa aming pamilya," she explained.

She first had a rift with her mother in 2013 when she came out as a lesbian on national TV. Her mother also expressed her disappointment with her relationship with fellow singer Alyssa Quijano. They, however, reconciled a year later.

"Ang masasabi ko lang po, just like other normal families, kami po ni Alyssa ay hindi na po bumabata. Nandoon na po kami sa point na napagdesisyunan na po namin na bumukod. Right now, my mom is with my brother and other relatives," she said.

Charice added: "Nandoon pa rin naman po iyong communication. Iba lang talaga sa amin ni Alyssa kasi first time kumabaga --in the real world, may sarili na po kaming life together.

"Let's just all move on. Para po sa akin, we are good. Alyssa and I are having a great and happy life together. Ang kulang na lang po eh iyong next big step na hihintay ng lahat."
