MANILA – Audiences worldwide are set to experience the new face of digital streaming service iWant, currently known as iWantTFC, this June.

The streaming platform is adopting more innovative ways in helping consumers discover content, said iWant Head Jolly Estaris.

The smarter and sleeker” user interface includes an improved search engine, episode selection, and new features such as personalization of profiles and new ad formats for brand partners.

“iWant is the ‘home of Filipino stories’ and it is about to undergo major renovations. So we’re going to hit you right in the feels with the new iWant,” Estaris revealed during the 2025 Pinoy Media Congress in Makati.

With the fast growth of connected TV viewership -- those who stream films and shows via their internet-connected TV sets -- iWant is venturing into smoother device integration, he said.

New ad formats will be introduced with the new look, such as the show carousel, and screensaver, where if the device becomes idle for a long time, static ads are on display.

Since its launch in 2010, iWant has become the home of Kapamilya shows, films, and other original Filipino content.

“When iWant launched in 2010, iWant TV pa siya noon. In fact, I think Netflix became big in the Philippines around 2015 onwards, so even before that happened, there was iWant TV na,” Estaris recounted in the Pinoy Media Congress session.

In 2018, iWant TV rebranded as iWant with a new version of its streaming service, allowing users to watch the latest hits to old classic shows.

It also began creating original content such as the Angel Aquino and Tony Labrusca-starrer “Glorious,” the biopic “Quezon’s Game” as co-producer, and the comedy series “Ang Babae Sa Septic Tank 3: The Real Untold Story of Josephine Bracken”.

In 2020, ABS-CBN merged iWant and The Filipino Channel (TFC) Online or TFC.tv, making it iWantTFC.

“Noong nawala 'yung franchise in 2020, we decided to reposition ABS-CBN as not a TV network but a storyteller because that's what we knew we were very good at,” said Estaris.

Among the shows iWantTFC came out with during this period were the Wattpad adaptation “He’s Into Her” with Donny Pangilinan and Belle Mariano, and other teen-oriented content like “Tara G!”, “Lyric and Beat”, “Teen Clash”, and “Senior High”.

It also offered first-look episodes of ABS-CBN series days before their TV airing.

Over the past year, iWantTFC produced the ABS-CBN News documentary series on girl group BINI and revived drama anthology “Maalaala Mo Kaya”.

Abroad, it has also added GMA Pinoy TV to its list of live streaming channels.

Estaris unveiled the possibilities of live streaming US concerts and venturing into more documentary and reality show content.

“In the new iWant, we made sure to give you a much better personalized experience to make you feel more at home,” Estaris said.
