MANILA – The signature Korean dish bibimbap gets a modern twist in this newly opened restaurant at The Block, SM North EDSA in Quezon City.

Rock and Seoul Bibimbap Bar is a new concept by the Relish Group, which brought the Asian brands Wee Nam Kee, Osaka Ohsho and Kumori Japanese Bakery to the Philippines.

Here, customers can make their own version of bibimbap for P290, choosing from a selection of meats, vegetables and sauces.

The restaurant also has a lineup of “Signature Baps,” which include modern takes on the mixed rice dish.

Expect to see bibimbap with anything from Korean fried chicken and beef bulgogi to hamburger steak, bacon and potatoes, even shawarma, salpicao and tacos. Each bibimbap is served in a sizzling plate, letting guests add their preferred sauces and mix the rice dish themselves.

With its affordable prices, quick service and tasty options, Rock and Seoul Bibimbap Bar is a nice place to fill up before the movies or after a trip to the supermarket, which is just across the restaurant.

Just remember to keep an open mind – this spot is all about fun instead of traditional flavors.
