MANILA — The Cultural Center of the Philippines (CCP) has joined the global celebration of Pride Month with a special façade lighting display, showcasing its commitment to diversity, individuality, and gender equality.

Beginning Wednesday, June 25, the CCP Main Building façade will be illuminated in a vibrant spectrum of rainbow colors, accompanied by GOBO projections featuring patterns inspired by human fingerprints.

According to the CCP Production Design and Technical Services Division, the fingerprint motif reflects the uniqueness of each individual, symbolizing the distinct stories and experiences of members of the LGBTQIA+ community.

“The fingerprint motif is both intimate and powerful. It symbolizes identity, authenticity, and visibility — central themes in the ongoing conversation about gender equality and inclusion,” said CCP artistic director Dennis N. Marasigan, who also chairs the CCP Gender and Development Committee.

“With this installation, we aim not only to celebrate Pride Month, but to remind all Filipinos that diversity is strength, and that every person has the right to be seen, heard, and respected.”

The façade lighting display is part of the CCP’s broader efforts to promote cultural inclusion, human rights, and safe spaces through the arts. Over the years, the institution has hosted performances, exhibits, and forums that amplify LGBTQIA+ voices and narratives.

The installation was designed by Jericho A. Pagana, with execution by the CCP technical team’s GOBO Team, composed of Shantie De Roca, Mary Grace Budol, Lucio Tapiru, John Mar Dumayas, and Alex Pineda.

The lighting display will run nightly from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. through June 30.
