'Ghosting' and 'Forever Fyang'—Fyang Smith Is on a Roll, Diving Deep Into Acting and Singing

Pinoy Big Brother: Gen 11 Big Winner Fyang Smith’s fandom scores big with her back-to-back projects—from her upcoming iWantTFC Original Series, Ghosting, to her new album under Star Pop, Forever Fyang, to be released on her "Fyang-tastic" Album Launch and Meet & Greet.

Ghosting is the story of Jaja, a student played by Fyang, who she described as “palaban, strong, and independent.” Jaja retreats to her grandmother’s provincial home after being ghosted by her crush. There, she unexpectedly falls for a charming but mysterious local boy, portrayed by her fellow PBB: Gen 11 housemate, JM Ibarra.

The twist? He’s actually a ghost, lingering in the living world with unfinished business.

Fyang revealed just how close her real-life personality is to her character, Jaja, in Ghosting. “Super close po. Parang iniba nga lang po 'yung pangalan,” she joked with Metro.Style. Portraying someone so similar to Fyang allowed her to tap into real emotions and deliver an authentic performance. Though filming hasn't started yet, Fyang is already preparing to debut her acting career as Jaja and bring her story to life. 

Aside from the story itself, fans are also looking forward to seeing the powerful team-up of JM and Fyang in Ghosting. "At first, honestly, nu'ng nakipagbatuhan po ako ng linya kay JM, naiilang pa po ako kasi hindi ko nga alam kung paano. E si JM, may experience na since nag-Cinemalaya siya. So, hindi na siya awkward. Ako, at first, super awkward po ako. But then, nu'ng nagagamay na po namin pareho, parang wala na lang sa'min."

What does she love most about working with JM? "Siguro kung paano niya ako i-guide sa lahat ng bagay na ginagawa ko and kung paano niya ako itama sa lahat ng mali kong ginagawa," she said before proceeding to joke, "Madami pa po e. Siguro mag-overnight po tayo dito kung iisa-isahin ko."

From the supernatural love story of Ghosting, Fyang is also stepping into an unfamiliar territory: music! Though she admitted she’s more of a dancer than a singer, fate had other plans.

StarPop saw potential in her and proposed the idea of an album. Caught by surprise but eager not to let the opportunity pass, Fyang said yes, with a smile and a leap of faith.

Fyang’s debut album, Forever Fyang, is emotional, relatable, and distinctly her own. The tracklist blends personal reflections and heartfelt stories, like a song inspired by her “clingy” side, a sweet duet with JM Ibarra that further showcases their chemistry, and a pop single that promises catchy hooks. 

She even included a lullaby so calming that “kahit ako, inantok po talaga ako,” she joked. The album drop is timed with a special meet‑and‑greet launch on June 22 at the New Frontier Theater, giving fans a chance to connect with her new musical identity and celebrate the start of this exciting chapter.

Her album, which currently sits at the #1 spot on iTunes PH Album Chart, includes songs “Para Shoot,“ "Clingy AF,“ “Kaya Mo Ba,“ “Tayo Hanggang Dulo,“ and “Mishu (Nasaan Si Fyang?).“

When it comes to music favorites, Fyang likes to keep things chill and close to the heart. She revealed that growing up, she found herself drawn to Taylor Swift's music. These days, she’s become a big admirer of Arthur Nery, saying that now, she enjoys a bit more of a laid-back vibe and R&B style. When we asked her about dream collaborations, she didn’t hesitate—Arthur is on top of her wishlist. “Kahit hindi duet, kahit kumanta lang siya sa concert ko,” she even said.

As a rising star, of course, Fyang didn’t forget to leave a message for her fans. Grateful as ever, she shared how she thanks them every single day for their support. But beyond the usual “thank yous,” she also took the opportunity to say: “Always be mindful and kailangan nilang isipin lagi 'yung mga nasasabi din nila sa social media kasi it might affect someone's mental health,” reminding everyone to think before they click. 

Despite the back-to-back projects, Fyang continues to be thoughtful and grounded, using her platform not just for music or acting but for spreading kindness as well.
