The Provincial Crisis Management Committee in Marawi City is urging the national government to create an inter-provincial security corridor in light of reports that more ISIS extremists have allegedly infiltrated the country.

The proposed corridor will allow security forces and local government authorities to cut supply and access routes of the terrorist group, especially throughout northern and central Mindanao.

Zia Alonto Adiong, spokesman of the committee said extremists move within the island and only attacked Lanao del Sur to attract supporters to attack other areas of Mindanao.

Adiong said they welcome any move of the government to send more police and soldiers in the province or the whole of Mindanao as an effect of the alleged presence of more ISIS members in the country.

The proposed inter-provincial security corridor should also come with responsibility from local government units to share their intelligence information with other local governments to strengthen the corridor.
