MANILA – A Philippine Air Force (PAF) Fokker 27 plane carrying key officials from the Armed Forces, including Presidential spokesperson Ernesto Abella, busted its tire upon landing at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport.

According to information initially gathered by ABS-CBN News, the government-owned F27 plane was given clearance to land at runway 06-24 by the Manila control tower after lying in from Cebu City.

However, the aircraft's tire exploded as it touches down, forcing the aircraft to swerve at the Rapid 1 exit way.

Fire and rescue personnel from the Manila International Airport Authority (MIAA) immediately responded to the incident and helped in the recovery of the disable aircraft.

No one was injured in the incident.

Flight operators said eight flights were delayed as the military plane was being towed towards the 250th hangar of the Philippine Air Force.

Authorities are investigating how the tires of the plane carrying Abella and several high-ranking officials got busted.
