PUERTO PRINCESA, PALAWAN - The City Health Office has monitored ten cases of hepatitis A in Barangay Tagabinet, located north of Puerto Princesa Underground River.

Most of the cases were children aged 7-12 years old, but none of them required hospitalization.

Findings of the initial investigation suggest that the source of the disease is focused only on Barangay Tagabinet. Health experts are still trying to identify where the disease came from.

Puerto Princesa City Health Officer Dr. Ricardo Panganiban said in an interview that they are looking at the community’s water as a possible source of the disease.
