Central Visayas PNP yet to get 'narco-cop' list

The Central Visayas Police Regional Office has not yet received a copy of the list containing the names of police officers who allegedly protect the illegal drug trade, as claimed by suspected drug lord Franz Sabalones.

Chief Superintendent Noli Taliño, Police Regional Office-7 Regional Director, said he only heard about it from the newspapers.

Sabalones, who voluntarily surrendered to Philippine National Police Director General Ronald dela Rosa in Camp Crame, was identified in President Rodrigo Duterte's list as an alleged drug lord based in San Fernando town in southern Cebu.

Taliño said the information that Sabalones gave to Camp Crame was solely his own and did not come from PRO-7 intelligence reports.

The list allegedly include two PRO-7 officials Supt. Rex Derilo and Supt. George Ylanan.

Sabalones claimed that the two received payola from him.

Taliño said that once he receives the list, he will tell the police officers to answer Sabalones' allegations.

Atty. Inocencio Dela Cerna, Derilo and Ylanan's legal counsel, said he will be in Camp Crame Monday to express his clients
willingness to cooperate in any investigation.

Dela Cerna said Sabalones is only trying to smear police after Ylanan and Derilo led the group that killed known drug lord Jeffrey "Jaguar" Diaz in Las Pinas City.
