MANILA- Veteran election lawyer Romulo Macalintal said Thursday he will run for senator in the 2019 elections.
Macalintal, who is also the lawyer of Vice President Leni Robredo in her poll protest, said he will run under the opposition coalition.
Liberal Party President Senator Francis Pangilinan also confirmed Thursday that Macalintal is included in their Senate lineup.
Macalintal joins Senator Paolo Benigno "Bam" Aquino IV, human rights lawyer Jose Manuel "Chel" Diokno, and former Deputy House Speaker Lorenzo "Erin" Tañada II in the Liberal Party's lineup.

So far, all 4 candidates of the party's candidates are not among the top 12 preferred senatorial bets in Pulse Asia survey released last month.
Macalintal landed at the 45th to 63rd bracket in the said survey.
