MANILA — In light of the uncertainties regarding Bamban, Tarlac Mayor Alice Guo’s citizenship, Senator Sherwin Gatchalian urged her to take a DNA test with Wen Yi Lin, the Chinese citizen whom Gatchalian suspects to be her biological mother.

“Napakadaling mag-imbento ng kuwento kaya ang pinakamaganda ngayon ay mag-DNA silang dalawa para mapatunayan na itong mga lumalabas na impormasyon ay hindi totoo,” Gatchalian said in a Teleradyo Serbisyo interview.

(It is very easy to invent a story which is why the best way is for them to take a DNA test to prove that the information coming out is not true.)

The senator said that according to residents, Lin was introduced to them as Guo’s mother.

She is also an incorporator in 7 out of the 14 businesses under Guo’s name.

“Nakikita ko ‘yan sa mga family business na kapag family business ka, ‘yung nanay mo incorporator, ‘yung tatay mo incorporator, mga kapatid mo incorporator, officers rin kayo lahat,” Gatchalian said.

(I see that in family businesses. When you are a family business, your mother is an incorporator, your father is an incorporator, your siblings are incorporators, you are all officers as well.)

Gatchalian said Guo lied when she denied knowing her siblings Shiela and Seimen Guo during the May 7 Senate hearing.

Her father, Jian Zhong Guo or Angelito Guo, is also believed to have lied when he applied for the birth certificate of his children.

Gatchalian wants to reform the process of registering births especially since the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) reported investigating 300 local cases of fake birth certificates and 65 cases involving foreigners.

He also wants to strengthen the law against money laundering considering that there is a high chance that this happened in the illegal Philippine Offshore Gaming Operators (POGOs) in Bamban.

FAKE ADDRESSES?

In the incorporation papers of the QJJ Group of Companies of Guo, it was indicated that she lived in Canumay West Village in Valenzuela City, the same address of her family and Lin.

ABS-CBN went to the said place that turned out to be a fabrics factory. Employees said as far as they knew, the Guos and Lin never lived in the compound.

Village officials said the same thing.

“Hinanap po namin, sinearch po namin kahit sa mga pangalan din po wala po kami talagang record,” Gian Paolo San Andres, village Chief of Staff, said.

(We looked, we searched but we really don’t have any record.)

Gatchalian also did not find any record of the Guos’ QJJ Embroidery. “Noong chineck namin sa business permit section ng City Hall, walang ganoon na registered company.”

(When we checked with the business permit section of the City Hall, there was no registered company like that.)

Based on a Bureau of Internal Revenue document from the office of Senator Risa Hontiveros, Lin lived in Balintawak, Quezon City.

ABS-CBN News went to the place but the security guard said the Guos and Lin never lived there.

Village officials also said they did not have residents with those names.

ABS-CBN News reached out to Guo’s lawyers but they have not yet responded.
