MANILA — The Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) on Tuesday said it would prohibit the deployment of Filipino seafarers to vessels under the company whose ships have been attacked by Houthi rebels in the Red Sea.

A security team composed of the Philippine Navy, Coast Guard, MARINA and DFA will also conduct security assessment before allowing any Filipino on vessels bound for the Red Sea.

Meanwhile, Migrant Workers Secretary Hans Cacdac assured that all 27 Filipino seafarers on MV Transworld Navigator attacked by Houthis in the Red Sea are safe, unharmed and en route to a safe port.
