SAN FRANCISCO — The suspect who allegedly pushed 74-year-old Filipina Corazon Dandan into the path of a San Francisco BART train on Monday and killed her was a no-show at his court arraignment on Friday afternoon.

Trevor Belmont, 49, was reportedly ill and in the hospital.

Corazon's brothers, Danilo and Rene, and her nephew, Alvin, who were in court, met with the District Attorney’s Office after the hearing was postponed.

In an exclusive interview with ABS-CBN News, Alvin said the family wants justice but he wonders what kind of justice will be served.

He says whether the suspect gets jail time or not, "it’s not going to bring (my aunt) back."

San Francisco District Attorney Brooke Jenkins earlier condemned the fatal attack on Dandan.

"The nature of this incident at Powell Street BART Station was tragic and truly shocking. I would like to express my deepest condolences to the victim’s family, friends and colleagues. Unprovoked attacks, especially on our most vulnerable, are unacceptable and will not be tolerated," she said.
