MANILA —ACT Teachers Party-List Rep. France Castro said Thursday she wants a full police report on an incident she said she witnessed of a police officer firing his gun in the middle of traffic in Bonifacio Global City (BGC) in Taguig.

The lawmaker made the claim during the House Quad Committee hearing, saying the incident took place late Wednesday near her car.

The lawmaker said she was baffled that a supposed police officer fired his weapon while there were many civilians around who might get hit.

"Tingin ko ay hindi tama ito dahil sa gitna ito ng mga sibilyan, at traffic po ito so maraming sasakyan," she said.

She urged the Philippine National Police to release a report on the recent incident in BGC

The lawmaker said if no police reports are released regarding the incident, she would take it as a "personal threat" to her safety.

After Castro's speech, House Quad Comm overall chairperson Robert Ace Barbers of Surigao del Norte addressed the PNP Criminal Investigation and Detection Group representative at the hearing and requested the representative to facilitate and submit a report to the Quad Comm regarding the incident.

"It is of paramount importance for the committee, as well as the whole House, to protect its members. Dahil sa nangyaring 'yan, we would request that you facilitate and submit to this committee the police report on that incident," Barbers said.
