MANILA — A heat index of 42 degrees Celsius is projected to be felt in Metro Manila in the upcoming week, according to PAGASA.

The state weather bureau also said that areas in the northern part of the country such as Aparri, Cagayan and Dagupan, Pangasinan may feel hotter temperatures after a heat index of 45 degrees Celsius is projected in the said areas.

However, PAGASA clarified that even though rains have been felt in the country recently, it is still not yet the rainy season, and that the country is still in its "transition period to the rainy season."
