(UPDATED) A mini sports utility vehicle (SUV) rammed into a fastfood outlet in Moalboal, Cebu on Thursday morning.

A video recorded by a bysteander showed the white mini-SUV slowly approaching the glass walls of the fastfood restaurant, before it suddenly rammed the establishment.

Police Capt. Claudio Gako, chief of the Moalboal Police Station, said that the 64-year-old driver of the mini SUV apparently lost control of the vehicle.

“He was about to disengage sa parking lot eh may bus na nag-unload ng passenger sa harap kaya iniiwasan niya ang sasakyan niya sa bus kaso hindi niya na-control,” said Gako.

The bus was hit at its rear part before the SUV accelerated into the glass panel of the fast food outlet.

“Bigla na lang humarurot,” Gako said.

One person who was inside the restaurant sustained injuries. She is currently recuperating at a hospital.

Gako said the mini-SUV has an automatic transmission.

“Part of the investigation is human error or kung may problema ang sasakyan, it’s up to him to reason out,” Gako further said.

The driver is now in police custody and will face charges for damage to property.

Meanwhile, the fast food outlet has temporarily halted its operations due to the incident.
