MANILA – Chery Tiggo tore down another newcomer in the 2024 Premier Volleyball League (PVL).

After sweeping the Capital1 Solar Spikers earlier this week, the Crossovers made quick work of Strong Group Athletics (SGA), 25-12, 25-17, 25-19, in the 2024 All-Filipino Conference on Saturday at the Araneta Coliseum in Quezon City.

Former PVL MVP Mylene Paat was the only player in double digits with 10 points on nine attacks and an ace.

"Nagpapasalamat ako lagi sa coaches sa tiwala nila and 'yung system kasi namin, kailangan magkaroon ng confidence na once ginamit, ready," Paat said after the game. "Wala naman kaming problema sa mga decision-making ng coaches namin, sumusunod lang talaga kami and happy kami."

Much like the opening set, the Crossovers replicated their offensive efforts in the second canto and surged to a 16-8 separation.

The closest SGA got was at 21-15 off their 4-1 mini-run in the middle of Set 2, but it was the red shirts who tallied a 2-0 lead as captain Aby Maraño delivered the frame for Chery Tiggo.

Strong Group made another gallant stand in the final frame and cast a 5-0 run, but an unfortunate service error capped the momentum for the blue shirts, and a net touch ultimately conceded the match.

"(We're) getting better every game. 'Yun naman ang hinahabol namin. Nae-execute naman namin 'yung mga magandang plays kaya happy naman kahit papaano," said coach Kungfu Reyes in the postgame press conference.

The Crossovers will take a long break and will play Choco Mucho next on March 2 at the PhilSports Arena.
