MANILA – Chery Tiggo coach Kungfu Reyes has issued "marching orders" as the Crossovers enter the Holy Week break.

Reyes underscored the importance of the upcoming break as he reminded the Crossovers to stay in shape and be safe before they go on their respective vacations.

"Actually itong break, malaking tulong din para... in a way sa amin. Though meron naman kaming homework na mga workouts na ibibigay. So meron kaming mga measurements before kami mag-Lenten break," the Chery Tiggo maestro said after a 23-25, 25-23, 25-16, 25-20 whipping of the Nxled Chameleons in the 2024 Premier Volleyball League (PVL) All-Filipino Conference on Holy Tuesday at the PhilSports Arena in Pasig City.

(Actually, the break would be a big help. Though we have homework and workouts for them. And we have measurements to follow before the Lenten break.)

Looking at the situation from an organizational standpoint, Reyes zoomed on the importance of staying safe, free from injuries, and keeping their weight to sustain their campaign in the 2024 All-Filipino.

After all, they are members of a professional volleyball team.

"Tsaka kung [lalabas] man sila, bawal malunod, bawal ma-injury, diba. Kailangan namin nang kumpleto sila, eh. So 'yun ang marching order namin sa kanila. Bawal maaksidente, bawal lahat... Bawal malunod, tumaba. Para at least meron silang reference. Sorry for the term, pero bawal mag-gain ng weight. That's the reality."

(And if they would go out, they shouldn't drown, shouldn't get injured. We need them complete. That's our marching order to them. Don't get involved in an accident, don't get drowned, don't gain weight. They have reference. Sorry for the term, but they should not gain weight. That's the reality.)

Team captain Aby Maraño also gave a piece of her mind regarding Reyes' instructions: "Discipline lang."

Reyes also highlighted the chance for the Crossovers to spend the Lenten season with their families.

"Pero siyempre, the spirit nung Lenten season, alam naman natin pare-parehas na kung ano meron tayo. We appreciate na mas mag-spend sila ng time with their families."

(But of course, in the spirit of the Lenten season, we all know what we have. We appreciate that they'd spend time with their families.)

Chery Tiggo will resume practice on April 1, said Reyes.

The Crossovers' next assignment will be the Cignal HD Spikers on April 11 at the PhilSports Arena.
