061913-sharlene_main.jpgAfter graduating from the weekend kiddie show Goin' Bulilit two years ago, Sharlene San Pedro admitted she is excited to be part of the new season of LUV U where she plays the role of Shirley Bernardo. She is joined by other Goin' Bulilit alumni Nash Aguas, Mika Dela Cruz, Kobi Vidanes, and Alexa Ilacad.

The teen-oriented show's previous seasons already showcased the talents of Sharlene's Goin’ Bulilit batch mates Miles Ocampo, Kiray Celis, and CJ Navato. Sharlene said she did not get jealous when they got assigned to the new show and she didn't. Nung nag-start yung LUV U, nag-go-Goin' Bulilit pa kami nun. Hindi pa ako graduate. Masaya kasi bagong show at saka sigurado magugustuhan niyo ang bagong cast. Bago yung makikita niyo ngayon sa show at saka madami kayong dapat abangan kasi masaya yung LUV U ngayon at saka kuwela, ganyan,” she shared.

The 14-year-old actress admitted she misses her Goin' Bulilit cast mates. Ngayon hindi pa kasi talaga ako nag-te-taping, sila pa lang (laughs),” she said.

After taking a hiatus from showbiz, Sharlene said she took the time to focus on her studies and prepare for her comeback as a teen actress. She said she did not get disheartened by the gap in her acting career. Nagpahinga kami tapos nag-aral ako tapos nag-Must Be Love ako with Kathryn Bernardo and Daniel Padilla tapos nag-MMK. At saka guestings,” she said.

Sharlene said she really enjoyed her working experience with two of the most popular Kapamilya teen stars in showbiz. Sharlene played the role of Lavinia, Kathryn's supportive best friend in the movie. “Silang dalawa mabait yun. Masaya sila kasama sa set,” she said.

As a former child star, Sharlene said she is willing to work hard to be considered a more mature actress now. The current third year high school student is not bothered that she had to lie low in her career. Sharlene admitted she felt very challenged by her recent role on MMK. Na-nominate ako dun sa Asian awards,” she said. Now, Sharlene said she is even open to doing kontrabida roles if it can showcase her talent.
