110114-dimples_main.jpgTen years since giving birth to her daughter, Dimples Romana said she is happily five months pregnant. “It’s so weird (laughs). I feel parang nanganganay kasi it’s been ten years. Cal is already 10 so medyo bago na sa akin ito. Actually it’s a very good experience now because back when I had Callie I was really young, siguro parang I had more fears then. Now I’m more comfortable. This pregnancy was really planned. Because we wanted to make sure that we we’re not going to fall over any of the contracts that I had, siyempre we want to pay respects to all my endorsements. Halos lahat naman kasi puro pang-mommy at saka for empowering women,” she shared during the Diana Stalder by Dermaline branch opening in SM Megamall last month.

Dimples said she delayed announcing the pregnancy until the baby started showing. “Hindi ko sinabi kaagad, nagdasal ako ng nagdasal na sana kumapit, kaya nung nagka-heartbeat ako, saka ko lang pinost. Para at least alam ko na may heartbeat na, buong buo na. Ang weird kasi kahit fourth month ko pero siguro dahil I’m a big girl also it doesn’t really show right away. Sabi ko sa asawa ko, ‘I need to wear na ata mga maternity dresses so people will believe I’m really pregnant!’ Kasi now I’m in that awkward stage, when the baby bump is already there but it just looks like puson to you (laughs),” she explained.

Even while she is expecting, the 29-year-old host said she will continue working for as long as she can. “Ako rin kasi very careful as a mom. I’m very protective. Ngayon masagi nga lang ako sa mall, super kawawa yung makakasagi sa akin. Eh ang laki kong babae (laughs). Parang nag hirap hirap kasi magbuntis ngayon eh. Alam mo ba tuwing magpapahinga ako saka ako nahihirapan. Totoo! Kasi hindi ako sanay. My body is so used to moving and working and thinking and hosting and doing a lot of things. Parang pag nagpapahinga ako that’s when I feel weak. So now even at home I walk around and do a lot of things. It’s so fun kasi I still get to do my shows even while I’m pregnant,” she added.

110114-dimples_main.jpgThe talented host-actress who is looking forward to getting back into teleserye work next year said having a family is not distracting her from having a fulfilling career. “Over the years I’ve always wanted to be a character actress tapos I wanted to be a host and really inspire a lot of moms and a lot women. I really wanted my body to be conducive to pregnancy so we had check-ups and I had all the tests talaga to make sure everything was okay with me. We went to Manaoag many times and really prayed. Super miraculous ang Manaoag. I’ve never been a devotee up until early this year. Every now and then we come and hear mass for thanksgiving. When we asked for it, mind you we really tried. I know how hard it is. I have a lot of prayer intentions for some friends of mine who really want to be pregnant also so I know how hard it is to ask. So when we asked for it, it happened. The truth is I want a boy. But of course it is a girl it is okay,” she admitted.

When it comes to her family, Dimples said she is very thankful her husband has always been supportive of her career. “You know Boyet is not very showbiz, he’s very quiet. Behind the scenes talaga but he never failed naman to get that balance between being in the scene and yet not really taking so much. He really supports me. Some of my friends, yung problema naman sa mga asawa nila, they’re very low-key that they don’t also attend the events of their wives. My husband is always there but he’s just very, very quiet and he’s friends with everybody so I don’t really have problems na kailangang asikasuhin siya or something,” she explained.

The Diana Stalder endorser admitted that nothing is perfect, but she and her husband always try to make things work. “We’ve been married 11 years. It’s a lot of work. You know my husband and I they think everything is happy happy, but we’ve been through a lot of things just like any normal marriage. Thankfully naman, even if we say really harsh things to each other, which is normal I think ah, and we would fight over the simplest things, for some reason we keep it together. Ayoko rin naman kasi ng conflict, ayoko ng kaaway. Even in showbiz, hangga’t maaari, if it’s not something good I don’t want to be talked about. Because I think as celebrities you have the responsibility to be good to the readers and the viewers and really give them something to be inspired about. I think over the years I think na-attain ko naman yun thankfully,” she shared.
