With his Metro Manila Film Festival entry Deadma Walking finally opening in cinemas this week, Joross Gamboa admitted he is feeling very positive about how audiences will receive the gay-themed film about love, life, and friendship. “Sobrang excited ako para sa mga tao na makapanuod kasi alam ko madami silang matututunan dito. Kung paano ka tumingin sa buhay at sa kamatayan, medyo maiiba dito yung pananaw mo and in a good way. At the same time entertaining ito. Sobrang mag-e-enjoy mga tao dito,” he told PUSH during the Deadma Walking premiere night last December 21 in Quezon City.

The talented actor said he has faith that their Carlos Palanca award-winning story is a strong contender in the Best Picture category at the Metro Manila Film Festival Awards Night. “Hopefully. Dahil maganda pagka-execute nito ng director namin at maganda pagkakatimpla ng storya from editing to production,” he said.

Having had a very busy year with his wife giving birth last June, him being part of the top-rated primetime series La Luna Sangre, and him being cast in two big film projects, Joross said his family has been nothing but supportive of his career and busy schedule. “Sobrang understanding yung wife ko. Saka yung dalawa ko namang anak isang two years old at isang six months so sa future pa nila ito mapapanuod. Ipapakita ko sa kanila, ‘O anak, nagbihis babae tatay niyo para pambayad sa bahay, para pambili ng diapers niyo (laughs)!’” he explained.

Joross admitted he has been so busy he did not even think of rewarding himself with a present for Christmas this year. “Hindi ko na naisip yun. Wala dahil laging puro sa anak ko at sa asawa ko. Basta makapag-spend akong time with my family, makalaro ko yung mga anak ko and makapagpahinga kami somewhere. Actually hindi naman important yun kung saan ka pupunta, kung sino yung mga kasama mo eh and how you will spend it. Ako kahit saan basta kasama ko pamilya ko it feels like Christmas,” he said.
