Pinoy Big Brother fans were in for a surprise as the show announced last Sunday, May 1, that Alyssa Valdez will be withdrawing from the competition due to a conflict in schedule with the 2022 SouthEast Asian Games where the volleyball superstar will be representing the country.

“Ano ba yan!” Samantha Bernardo was shocked by the announcement by Big Brother.

Big Brother announced that Samantha, who finished in the third spot on the last eviction night of the Celebrity batch, will replace Alyssa and will be joining Anji Salvacion as the Top 2 Celebrity housemates.

Host Bianca Gonzalez asked Samantha if she would accept the challenge of Big Brother. “Knowing me, ‘di ako sumusuko sa ano mang pagsubok na hamon ng buhay, I am not a quitter, I will always say na okay lang sa akin na matalo but as long as I fight until the end. Tinatanggap ko po iyon at isang karangalan na ako ang kapalit ni sizzy at laban natin ito sizzy,” she added.

Samantha will be competing with the Top 2 housemates from the adult and teen batches to determine the Big Winner of the PBB Kumunity edition.

In an Instagram post, the former Miss Grand International 1st Runner Up posted a photo with the hosts of PBB with the caption, “Dream come true. Have faith in fate. ✨”

Hundreds of comments flooded her post, showing an outpouring of support for Samantha, including those from her former fellow celebrity housemates and beauty queens.

“Congrats babe! Everything happens for a reason! The journey continues! 🔥❤️😍” wrote Karen Bordador.

“Represent!! Rooting for u Sammy ❤️,” said Kyle Echarri.

Samantha also took to her official Twitter account to show her love for Alyssa and Anji.
