Vickie Rushton, Jason Abalos get engaged

Celebrity couple Vickie Rushton and Jason Abalos are now engaged.

The two shared the wonderful news with their fans this Thursday morning (June 2), posting on Instagram a photo of Vickie's diamond engagement ring.

"So, Baba and I have been keeping a little secret," wrote Vickie in the caption of her post.

She also cited a Bible verse: “Isaiah 60: 22. 'When the time is right I, the Lord, will make it happen.”

Based on Jason's post, the couple has been engaged since September of last year.

"Habambuhay ko pasasalamat ang Panginoon sa buhay mo Baba," wrote the actor. "Patugtugin na ang kampana!"

Vickie, 30, and Jason, 37, first met in 2010 during a Kapamilya Karavan event in Bacolod.

Just last year, Jason opened up about his wish to start a family with Vickie as she ended her pageantry journey.

Vickie, also a former Pinoy Big Brother housemate, last competed in the Binibining Pilipinas pageant in 2018, where she finished first runner-up.

“Siguro nasa ano na kami ni Vickie, eh. Matagal na akong naghihintay na matapos si Vickie sa pagpa-pageant. Tingin ko ayon na ‘yon, eh. Sabi ko, ‘O, tama na yan, hindi ka na pwede, tayo naman,'" said Jason at the time.

“Kasi hinayaan ko siya talagang lumarga, gawin niya lahat ng gusto niya habang dalaga pa siya. So ngayon, siguro panahon na para bumuo naman kami ng pamilya," he then said.
