LOOK: Empoy, Alessandra to star in new serye with Piolo

MANILA - Alessandra de Rossi and Empoy Marquez, the stars of the wildly successful indie flick "Kita Kita," has been cast in a new teleserye, producer Dreamscape announced Tuesday.

The two will join Piolo Pascual, Arci Muñoz, and JC de Vera in the series, which will be headed by "Love You to the Stars and Back" and "That Thing Called Tadhana" director Antoinette Jadaone.

It will be De Rossi and Marquez's first project following "Kita Kita," which is now the highest grossing local indie movie after earning P300 million in three weeks.

This will also be Pascual's first serye since 2014's "Hawak Kamay," should it be released before his planned drama with Toni Gonzaga.

De Vera is currently part of "The Better Half," while Muñoz is known for her stints in "Pasion de Amor" and movies such as "Can We Still Be Friends?" and "Always Be My Maybe."

Other details on the currently untitled project were not revealed.
