MANILA — Actor-producer Jericho Rosales has made it clear that he is not concerned about being outshined by the influx of new talent in the entertainment industry.

After a six-year hiatus, Rosales is making his return to acting with a renewed focus on collaboration and the long-term health of the industry.

Rosales, who is set to star as Tyrone De Vera in the upcoming series “Lavender Fields”, alongside Jodi Sta. Maria and Janine Gutierrez, addressed the issue of competition.

"I’m competitive in a different way," Rosales said. "But I always see new faces, new people, and people to work with. If I see or smell or sense a very competitive energy or if someone sees me as an enemy, then maybe I'm like, yeah, pass. I get attracted to people who want to collaborate and who I want to work with."

Rosales emphasized that the industry is not merely for newcomers but for those with the mindset to endure and contribute meaningfully.

"On a serious note, this is not an industry, hindi siya industriya ng mga baguhan. Industria siya ng mga mindset na gusto mo magtagal because, number one, you wanna offer something to the industry. You wanna share something to the industry aside from receiving, of course," he explained. "As an artist, you want to be appreciated by people; we want to be noticed, we want to be seen, we want to be heard. But this industry calls to the people who want to give something to the industry, who want to keep relationships, who are honest, and these are the ones that last."

Rosales expressed enthusiasm about being back in the spotlight. "I’m totally back! In terms of, yes, accepting projects," he said.

“Lavender Fields”, which marks Rosales' return to television, is set to begin airing in September.

The show is highly anticipated, not only for Rosales' comeback but also for its stellar cast and compelling storyline. Fans are eager to see Rosales back in action, bringing his depth and experience to the role of Tyrone De Vera.
