2 suspects in shooting of doctor in Maguindanao del Sur surrender

Two of the three suspects in the shooting of Dr. Sharmaine Baroquillo have surrendered to authorities and are now in the custody of Buluan Municipal Police in Maguindanao del Sur.
"With the cooperation of the family, the local government unit of Pandag, and Buluan Municipal Police Stations, and because of the concerted effort, this led to the surrender of the suspects. They are now in the custody of Buluan Municipal Police Station. Yesterday, they arrived there in the afternoon, and currently, there is still one suspect at-large, who is still the subject of our police operation," said PNP PRO BAR Regional Director Brig. Gen. Allan Nobleza.
Two of the three suspects in the shooting of Dr. Sharmaine Baroquillo have surrendered to authorities and are now in the custody of Buluan Municipal Police in Maguindanao del Sur.

Nobleza said one of the two suspects is 16 years old while the other is 18 years old.
"Accordingly, but this is for them to prove their ages, as claimed by the suspects; one is 16 years old, and the other is 18 years old, and they are from Buluan, and one is from Pandag," PBGen added.
He also disclosed that they had already identified the gunman, with robbery as the motive of the crime.
"From the town of Datu Paglas, they followed the victim, and when they saw her, since the vehicle was not tinted completely, they saw that there was only one female occupant, which is why they planned for the supposed robbery," said Nobleza.
Nobleza said one of the two suspects is 16 years old while the other is 18 years old.

The shooting took place while the government doctor was traveling from Davao City and was on her way to the Sultan Kudarat Provincial Hospital. Police said the incident occurred around 7:30 p.m. on February 3, 2024.
