“Indonesia is a very large country with more than 4,000 overseas Filipino workers...We know that there is no permanent OWWA office here in Indonesia. And given the fact that Indonesia is part of our jurisdiction, we make sure that every year OWWA is present here in Indonesia,” sabi ni Overseas Workers Welfare Administration Welfare Officer Jay Teves.

“The purpose is to bring the services closer to our kababayans because most of them umuuwi pa ng Pilipinas para makapag-avail ng services including the issuance of Overseas Employment Certificate or the OEC and OWWA membership as well,” pahayag ni Migrant Workers Office Singapore Assistant Labor Attache and OIC Atty. Eduard Ferrer.

“One of the many things I learned is that this government program, especially through the Department of Migrant Workers seeks to ensure that services are delivered to our Filipino citizens in Indonesia,” ani ASEAN Inter-Parliamentary Assembly Attachment Officer Ross Antonino Jose Macali Atienza.

“Since we do not have a resident Migrant Workers Office here in Indonesia, the MWO as mandated by RA11641 will establish soon an MWO station here in Jakarta because that’s the thrust of the law… that all foreign service posts should have an MWO stationed here. And the MWO is doing its part for us to realize that mandate – that thrust of the government,” pahayag ni Atty. Ferrer.
