MANILA - The low pressure area over the Philippine Sea continues to move southward and closer to land.

At 3 a.m. Tuesday, it was located 650 km east of Infanta, Quezon.

It has medium chance of developing into a tropical cyclone in the next 24 hours, according to PAGASA.

Today, the trough of the LPA will bring scattered rains over Isabela, Quirino, Aurora, Quezon, and Bicol Region.

On the other hand, the rest of Central and Southern Luzon, Visayas, and the northern and western parts of Mindanao will also experience rains from the southwest monsoon.
