MANILA — LeBron James achieved another milestone in his  historic basketball career.

The Los Angeles Lakers superstar has just become the only player in NBA history to reach 40,000 points following his basket at the 10:40 mark of the second quarter of LA’s clash against the Denver Nuggets, Sunday morning, Manila time.

“No one has ever done it,” said James in an interview last Friday (Manila time) on Spectrum Sportsnet following their overtime win against the Washington Wizards.

“For me to be in this position at this point of my career, I think it’s pretty cool. Does it sit at the top of the things I’ve done in my career? No. Does it mean something? Of course, absolutely. Why wouldn’t it?” James continued.

A four-time NBA Champion and four-time league MVP, "King James" entered yet another uncharted territory after he became the first one to ever reach 39,000 career points last November.

This is in addition to him passing Kareem Abdul-Jabbar in February 2023 as the no. 1 player in the NBA’s All-Time scoring list.

LeBron also became the only player in NBA history to post 40,000+ points, 11,000+ rebounds, and 10,000+ assists, further solidifying his case as basketball’s greatest player of all time.

The Cleveland Cavaliers and Miami Heat legend, who is currently averaging 25.3 points, 7.9 assists, and 7.1 rebounds in his 21st year in the league, currently has over 11,042 career boards and 10,839 career dimes.

And while he is still continuing to compete for more championships and add more to his already-long list of accolades, James said that he is just savoring everything that he has  done.

“To be able to accomplish things in this league, and be one of the greatest players to play in the NBA has been a dream of mine, and to be able to hit feats and have milestones in my career, they all mean something to me.”

It was over 7430 days ago, October 29, 2003, when James hit his first NBA career point, but 21 years later, ‘The Chosen One’ is still making history.
