Paulo Avelino admits to being pressured by Bea Alonzo’s acting skills

Despite being a highly-acclaimed actor, Paulo Avelino confessed that working with this generation’s Movie Queen Bea Alonzo made him gauge his own acting expertise.

In an interview at the recently-concluded pocket press conference of their upcoming series titled Sana Bukas Pa Ang Kahapon, Paulo shared that they shot a titillating scene the first time that he and Bea went in front of the camera and he confessed that it wasn’t that easy.

But after having finished a couple of scenes, Paulo was able to prove home much of a brilliant actress Bea is. “She’s very organic,” described the actor who even highlighted Bea’s best trait as a colleague. “Nirerespeto niya rin ‘yung fact na kahit sabihin mo na bago rin ako. Nirerespeto niya parin ‘yung mga opinion ko, ‘yung mga ideas ko sa set. Kumbaga I’m really honored and happy na makatrabaho ko si Bea.”

Since it was the first time that he got the opportunity to work with her, Paulo shared that that he got to see another side of the box office actress. “Kasi sabi nga nila di ba she’s this generation’s Movie Queen parang sa akin lang I never imagined Bea to be so bubbly. Masayahin lang talaga siyang tao. Dati kasi I imagined Bea na elegante masyado who is poised pero sa set hindi eh tao rin pala si Bea. Very bubbly,” he shared.

Now that he’s working with Bea, the only reservation he has is if he could measure up to her level of acting. He also dismissed any comparisons to Bea’s perennial onscreen partner John Lloyd Cruz. “Hindi naman kasi ako rin napakataas ng respeto ko kay John Lloyd bilang actor kumbaga pero ‘yun lang nag-worry lang ako na sana mabigay ko ‘yung tamang level kasi para masabayan si Bea,” Paulo explained.

Meanwhile, eight years in show business and lot of controversies and intrigues later, Paulo claimed that he has yet to become used to the ins and outs of showbiz. According to him, he’s still “trying” and “adjusting.”

But does he still get affected by intrigues thrown his way? “Hindi naman pero more on the press people talaga kapag nagagalit sila sa akin kasi I never really talk about anything. I never answer anything pero parang naisip ko ngayon na from the start sila talaga ‘yung tumutulong sa akin since I joined the reality search sa kabila. Itong mga tao talaga ang tumulong sa akin,” said Paulo.

Paulo proved his “effort” to become more open to the press during the same event wherein he openly addressed what truly transpired between him and his rumored flame KC Concepcion.

He revealed that contrary to speculations, he and Megastar Sharon Cuneta’s eldest daughter are not together and that they “tried to take it to the next level.” Unfortunately, things didn’t play out well for their romance mainly because of their distance, as KC is currently in New York taking acting courses.
