It’s going to be a hot Wednesday in Roxas City, Capiz, Virac in Catanduanes and Guiuan, Eastern Samar as the heat index is forecast to hit 45-degree Celsius in these areas, according to weather bureau PAGASA.

Aborlan and Cuyo in Palawan will experience 44 degrees Celsius weather while 8 areas - Dagupan City, Pangasinan; Bacnotan, La Union; Alabat, Quezon; San Jose, Occidental Mindoro; Masbate City, Iloilo City and Dumangas, Iloilo; and Zamboanga City, Zamboanga del Sur - will experience 43 degree Celsius heat index.

PAGASA weather forecaster Dan Villamil said Metro Manila and the rest of the country will experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms due to the easterlies and localized thunderstorms.

PAGASA Chief of the Climate Monitoring and Prediction Section Ana Liza Solis earlier said the next two weeks, compared to April, will most likely see fewer areas experiencing high heat indices.

"Although may mga areas na bumababa na yung heat index, still may mga areas pa rin na possible pa rin na mataas ang heat index sa mga darating na araw," she said.

(Although there are areas where the heat index has decreased, there are still areas where a high heat index is possible in the coming days.)

Discomfort will still be felt because of the heat, Solis added.
