A new face is lighting up the MYX screen—and he’s bringing with him a global sound and a grounded sense of self. Pinoy Big Brother: Gen 11 alum Jarren Garcia is one of the freshest MYX VJs, who is turning his lifelong love for music and performance into a platform for connection and discovery.

Born and raised in London, Jarren grew up with music as a constant presence. His household was a blend of influences. “My dad loved playing reggae, Latin music, R&B, and pop, while my mom listened to Celine Dion, Whitney Houston, and sometimes even rock… That's why I have such a versatile music taste,” he told Metro.Style.

Even miles away from the Philippines, Filipino culture was never far from Jarren’s life, especially through MYX. He remembers discovering music through the channel’s daily countdowns and being drawn to the charm of VJ-hosted segments. It wasn’t just entertainment; it became a touchstone for his identity.

After joining Pinoy Big Brother, Jarren found himself at a crossroads—and when his manager, Luz Bagalacsa, told him about the MYX VJ auditions, everything clicked. For Jarren, it was a chance to dive deeper into music, and sharing that with others felt like a natural next step.

He prepared for the role with intention, watching past VJ episodes to study how they spoke, moved, and connected with the audience. “Many people would consider me chill and maybe even nonchalant at times. But it's exciting because I feel like I'm also learning a new skill,” Jarren shared.

As an artist himself, Jarren brings something unique to the table—a deeper understanding of what it means to create music. He says it helps him connect with fellow musicians and tell their stories more meaningfully. That dual perspective, as both host and artist, makes him an ideal addition to the current MYX roster.

These days, his dream is to sit down with Daniel Caesar, an artist who has long inspired him. “He's been my number one artist for so long now,” he said, hoping to one day explore the Canadian singer-songwriter's creative process firsthand.

Now part of MYX’s next generation, Jarren is ready to be a bridge between cultures, blending his London roots and Filipino pride to connect audiences worldwide. He’s excited to introduce more global sounds to the local scene, and just as importantly, showcase OPM on the international stage.

“We're just so excited to bring a refreshing feel to MYX,” he remarked, “and introduce Filipinos to more international music—and introduce the world to more OPM.”

Jarren shares this mission with his fellow MYX VJs Robbie Jaworski, Ameera "Eya" Almamari, Ella Regudo, Kring Prologo, Ozzie Llige, and Samm Alvero, who are all eager to represent the new generation in the music channel’s new era and amplify the Gen Z voice through their platform.
